Scott Strawberry and Tomato Farms were founded in 1959 by Wayne Scott. Scott was a high school agriculture teacher who had always dreamed of putting what he taught into real life experience. Being a family business, one of the grandsons is also a teacher’s assistance at Elizabethton High School. When interviewing the EHS teacher, he gave some insight information on the family business. His uncle, Steve Scott, and father, David Scott, are co-owners. Steve is the older brother and therefore the president of the overall company. Having made their major money on selling their tomatoes, their famous strawberries are also very popular. Their strawberries are the first crop of the harvest season. Scott Strawberry, tomatoes, corn and green bean Farms offer produce for many communities and specialize as a family business, to help families. Their website states, they ship tomatoes nationwide, sell strawberries from our retail stands, and have a produce market located in Unicoi where they ship their world class tomatoes. They also opened up a new market in 2016 and have multiple stands all over the surrounding counties where everyone can enjoy delicious treats!
