In two weeks time, EHS’s drama department will premier this semester’s show at the Bonnie Kate theater.  The show will play on Aril 20th, 21st, 27th, 28th and is priced at $5 per person for students, and $7 for general admission. If any are curious of what the play is about, Meagan Foster, the school’s drama teacher, has provided the following description:

What play do you produce after The Great Gatsby? Perhaps a classic but most definitely a comedy. I set out to find the right Shakespearean comedy, but all came short because of the lack of strong female roles. To remedy this I settled upon Leading Ladies. Shakespearian in nature, it combines the concept of Twelfth Night set against a 1950’s backdrop. Additionally elements from The Bard’s other works such as Taming of the Shrew, are woven into this production as well. As with all Shakespearian comedies, mistaken identity is key to the plot, and typically results in I Love Lucy-esque escapades. Let us not forget however that even in comedies there are still didactic moments. In the case of leading ladies it is that sometimes you have to wear a mask (or in this case a mask) to truly realize who are.
